I own the Copyright of everything that is published on this site, including all the articles and photographs. Therefore, you mustn’t copy anything here for your own use. Please do not republish my photographs on your own site without permission, either by saving the file yourself, or by referencing the image file on my server (‘hotlinking’). Just ask for permission, please—it is generally forthcoming (see Licensing, below).

In some instances, other people may own the Copyright but have allowed me to publish their work on the site (for example other people’s photographs, or articles written or contributed to by other people). In these cases, I will have clearly marked the author of the work as being the copyright holder. The same rules about usage apply to work published on this site whose Copyright holder is someone other than me.

Licensing

If you would like to use something published on this site (on the Web or in print media), please get in touch before proceeding, stating your intended purpose and the scope of your project. Very often I will let you use my material for nothing except a link back to this website. Where someone else is the copyright holder, I will have to get in touch with them to ask for permission to license their work.

If you are interested in one of the photos on this site, I have generally got higher resolution versions available.
